Sweet Paul Magazine

Back in January I introduced you to Sweet Paul, a blog authored by New York City prop stylist Paul Lowe. I also told you that Paul was producing a quarterly online magazine that would premiere this Spring. The online magazine is live and I thought you'd like to see a sneak peak because it is gorgeous. Sweet Paul Magazine features easy and elegant recipes, fun and stylish crafts, exciting crafters, entertaining ideas and more.

Days with my Father

Days with my Father
You may be familiar with the website Days With My Father, a son's photo journal of his aging father's last years. Following the death of his mother, photographer Phillip Toledano was shocked to learn of the extent of his father's severe memory loss. He started a blog on which he posted photographs and accompanying reflections on his father's changing state. Through sometimes sad, often funny, and always loving observations, we follow Toledano as he learns to reconcile the elderly man living in a twilight of half memories with the ambitious and handsome young man he occasionally still glimpses. I've visited the site many times and everytime I do it breaks my heart a little, I smile, and almost everytime I cry. Toledano has taken this beautiful site and turned it into a hardcover book. A wonderful gift to remember time spent with your father.

West Elm Fall Preview

I know the last thing everyone wants to think about is fall since it technically isn't even summer yet but I promise this will be worth it. I just had a peak at West Elm's fall preview and spotted many great pieces. I am loving West Elm more with every new season. Each new collection is more refined and sophisticated then the last. I own several great pieces of furniture from West Elm and I'm really pleased with the quality and durability.

If I didn't just (two weeks ago) buy new bedding I would definitely be snatching up the organic seedling duvet cover. I do have my eye on the loft floor lamp, I've been searching for a floor lamp for months and I think it might be perfect for my living room.

Have you checked out the fall preview yet? If so, what is your favorite new item?

Lack Luster This Shop is Not

There is an over abundance of vintage shops on etsy. Many of them are just like your neighborhood junk shop. They require excessive scouring in order to possibly find that one gem of a piece. But what you find most of the time is just junk. Then there are those few wonderful vintage shops that are beautifully edited with exquisite photography that make me want to buy every single thing in the shop. Lack Luster Co. is one of those shops. If you know me at all you must know that I'm dieing to get my hands on a few of the marine signal flags available. Lack Luster is not the only beautifully curated vintage etsy shop but it is one of my favorites for one very mportant reason. The items in the shop are so reasonably priced. That interesting little mid century side table is only $46! You should snatch it up before I do.
