Kell Nightmare
The best thing that has come out of starting this blog is the friends I've made in the process. Many of these friends are people that I may never meet in person, only know what they look like from their profile photos, and may not even know their last name. It seems a bit odd to call these folks friends without knowing the very intimate details of their personal lives. They are so different from my "real life" friends which are a very close circle most of I have known for more than half of my life. Besides these differences I still consider these online acquaintances true friends.
One the friends I've made through blogging is Becky. While she is trained as a landscape architect, has a great eye for design and writes for both Hatch the Design Public blog and Houzz what we actually bonded over was reality TV. We both watch way too much of it and love to dish about it. Anything on Bravo is usually high on our list of favorites. Imagine our excitement when Bravo announced their new reality show Kell on Earth featuring Kelly Cutrone, founder of the PR firm People's Revolution. If you watched The Hills or The City you probably know Kelly as Lauren then Whitney's scary boss dressed all in black. Which is kind of sad for Kelly who built up People's Revolution to become one of the biggest PR firms in the fashion industry. Becky and I can't wait to see a show where Kelly is center stage. She's incredibly blunt, works really hard, and at the end of the day is a loving single mom to her 7 year old daughter Ava.

Kell on Earth premiers tonight on Bravo so check back tomorrow to see our commentary and join in on the conversation.

Any of you who already follow Becky's personal blog TheBubbReport know she provides hilarious weekly wrap ups of shows like Project Runway. As a fun little project the two of use have decided to join forces and provide our commentary of Kell on Earth. Since fashion and reality television are a bit of departure from the topics I usually write about here we'll post our commentary on TheBubbReport and I'll provide a link here to the post each week. I hope I can be as witty as Becky is when it comes to dishing about what I can only assume will become my new favorite show.

Eleven Minutes - Jay McCarroll
Are any of you out there Project Runway fans? I used to be the biggest fan of the show that ever lived (though I'll admit my interest is waning) and my hands down favorite winner was Jay McCarroll from season 1. I would wear everything he sent down the runway for the finale show and everything that came out of his mouth had me in stitches. My boyfriend didn't mind watching the show with me since he was equally entertained by Jay. Thanks to Green {Goody} I just found out that Jay made a movie called "Eleven Minutes" chronicling his year long journey preparing is first runway show post Project Runway. I can't wait to see this and turns out I don't have to wait too long because it premieres tomorrow. The movie will premiere in selected cities and available online at here! tv. Here's the movie trailer if you'd like to check it out:

Makool Loves You
And I love Makool. I just discovered this etsy shop and I am totally smitten. I hadn't initially planned to discuss fashion on this blog but I think it's okay to break the rules a bit especially when you come across something this lovely. The dress below is by far my favorite of the collection, the combination of soft gray and deep plum is gorgeous and so right now. The dress looks so easy the wear but it would be impossible to not look fabulous in it. At $675 its a bit pricey for me, though by no means unreasonable, especially since the dress is made special order by Makool to your measurements. The second dress pictured is also available special order and is about the sweetest thing I've ever seen. I'd love to have it for my annual New Years Eve party, would I be the most fabulous hostess?

Makool also sells items that are not special order and therefore totally affordable. For instance, this Johansen dress is $168, vintage blue glass buttons and all. Not bad for a one of a kind piece. You can feel confident walking down the street that you most likely are not going to spot another person in the same great dress that you're wearing.

It turns out this etsy shop is the second store for the Makool clothing line where you will find some extreme discounts as well as some special order options. You can also shop Makool at store.makoollovesyou.com. Almost forgot to mention the best part of it all, both sites offer free shipping on U.S. orders. Happy shopping, perhaps you can consider it a "Go me, I voted today" gift to yourself.
